The Buzz on Beekeeping

Master Beekeeper and Master Gardener Bethany Allen-Ford will provide tips on how to start "backyard beekeeping". She will also discuss safety concerns, the awareness of Africanized Honey Bees, the role of pollinators, and then provide a list of plants that attract pollinators. NOTE Location: Palmetto Library, 923 6th Street West, Palmetto.

The Manatee County Extension Service provides the educational resources of the University of Florida through materials and training to the citizens of Manatee County. It is cooperatively funded by Manatee County Government, the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (I.F.A.S.) and the United States Department of Agriculture (U.S.D.A.).
